With a formal education in accounting from MacEwan University, and an extensive professional finance background, including roles as District Business Manager with Kiewit Construction and Chief Financial Officer with Heavy North Construction, Mr. Wilson brings both advanced technical understanding and industry-tested experience to his role as Director of Finance with Steel River Group.
In this role, Mr. Wilson will lead financial strategy, reporting, and forecasting and will be integral in the ongoing financial health of SRG with a focus on cash management, covenant compliance, and financial risk management. He’ll also lead the finance function as it relates to growth, acquisitions, and partnerships.

He is also very committed to safety, having been involved in a work-related incident earlier in his career that claimed the lives of several colleagues. As a result, Mr. Wilson has written and published a book on behavioral safety and travels throughout North America sharing this story in the hopes of making the world a safer place.
Mr. Wilson believes that Steel River Group will positively impact indigenous communities by being a leader in genuine and transparent relationship building, supporting the skills development of community members, and by creating financial opportunities derived from industry relationships. Combined, he believes these impacts will not only encourage the growth of individual community members but will also create financial and personal investment in the communities themselves.
