22 Août STEEL RIVER GROUP IS CERTIFIED AS AN ABORIGINAL PROCUREMENT CHAMPION
Calgary, Alberta, August 22, 2019 – For over 30 years, CCAB has worked towards building bridges between Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal peoples, businesses, and communities through diverse programming, formal certification, research, events, and leadership awards. Through the building of positive relationships between Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal businesses and communities, CCAB helps to foster an equitable and sustainable economy across Canada.
In recent months, CCAB has developed a new Aboriginal Procurement Strategy, focused on highlighting the opportunities and value of Aboriginal procurement relationships. As part of the Aboriginal Procurement Strategy, CCAB recruits leaders from business communities to serve as Aboriginal Procurement Champions – a group of corporations committed to increasing opportunities for Aboriginal businesses to participate in their supply chains.
“We are thrilled that Steel River Group has joined our growing team of now 58 Aboriginal Procurement Champions,” said JP Gladu, President & CEO of CCAB. “As a Certified Aboriginal Business themselves, Steel River Group is elevating other Aboriginal businesses to help expand CCAB’s Aboriginal Procurement Marketplace. Their commitment to increasing opportunities for Aboriginal businesses through our Supply Change initiative is a crucial step toward economic reconciliation.”
As an Aboriginal Procurement Champion, Steel River Group has demonstrated its leadership and commitment to Aboriginal business by joining an unprecedented approach to enhancing Aboriginal procurement outcomes in Canada.
